Can you see the setting moon over the hill? Huge, isn't it?
After an "in-house" breakfast in Kearney, we left in sunshine planning to make a shorter day of it since we covered more than half the distance yesterday. Our fellow travelers in the other mini-van were carrying along their thermoses of coffee and at least one small jug of tea. Of course! Because of that and the fact that all four of them are 60+, within the hour a pit stop was requested. That taken care of, we were good until our planned stop at Cabela's in Sidney, NE. Lots of stuff to see here, so by the time we left, it was nearly noon. One and a half hours later (Perkins' food is good; service is s-l-o-o-o-w!) we finally got moving again.
In Pine Bluffs, WY, we filled with gas for $1.35, drove west to Cheyenne where I-80 intersects with I-25, and turned south to Loveland, CO. We always make a stop at Walmart for grocery or paper items before running on up the canyon. Upon arriving at the condo, there is a list of things to get done: turn up the heat, turn on the water, light the water heater, open blinds, carry in groceries and luggage, and unpack.

No one was ready to cook, so we drove downtown to see the beautiful city Christmas lights that are still up and to get a bite to eat. Once we were all settled around the fireplace back home, we had a time of Bible reading, discussion, and prayer (since we missed church this a.m.). Conversation with this bunch is always fun, and it isn't long usually until cousin Ed has his hankie out wiping his eyes. Before ten, everyone was pretty well ready to hit the hay. All have been asleep for these last hours except yours truly.
Oh, yes. And sis-in-law Melodye put a pork roast in the crockpot to cook overnight, so now my stomach thinks it is hungry! M. is going to make barbequed pulled pork for sandwiches at lunch tomorrow--er, today!
