Hooray for Garage Sales!

This weekend has taught me that the garage sale experience in Estes Park goes much smoother with proper planning. Last weekend with Bill and Melodye I thought my preparation was adequate. I had written down times, addresses and the items that were at each location. Dear reader, finding some of the streets in this town is a challenge at best. So many of the names are similar such as: Pine View Dr., Pine View Ct., Pine View Ln. See what I mean? Well, some of our shopping time was taken up with driving around looking for the sales.

Enter Sis-in-law Pam! This girl is ORGANIZED! She wrote down the Friday sales separate from the Saturday sales. She wrote down the items we were interested in. She wrote down the addresses of the sales. THEN she asked me to look up the addresses on Mapquest after which she wrote down the DIRECTIONS to each place. Who knew? On Friday and Saturday this week, we headed out by 8:00 a.m. and had covered each advertised sale before 11:00. What fun! And yes, Bill and his dad went along and joined in the shopping.

Bill and folks visit with the home owner while Pam visits with his wife. This (4-car) garage sale was really a moving sale--price for the home, $4 million!

This was actually a barn sale. Bill and Pam hit the jackpot--a nearly new creeper for $10 and new name-brand snowshoes for $30!

We had some really good luck finding great prices on some things on Friday morning, but they weren't what we were looking for. There is always next weekend!
