NASCAR Race Weekend, Part 2

Those who went to the race arrived back here before I got to bed--about midnight or so. They were rather loud (well, ten people do tend to be noisy) and woke Melanie. I guess they enjoyed the evening even though the race was boring. Kyle Busch was the winner.

Most everyone slept in on Saturday morning. Lunch was fast food brought to the house. Jonah was happy enough to miss the race when I promised to take him to Hidden Cove Fun Park. We left his mommy napping after she said to me, "I HATE Hidden Cove!" I had to admit that I also hate the place, but you know what Grandmas do! Jonah played mini-golf, went on the big slide numerous times, knocked down a perfect stranger on the inflatable boxing ring, played fooze ball, rode the bumper cars, and bowled about 90+ at mini-bowling. The line was too long and moving too slowly at the go-karts, so we skipped it. His daddy had sent us with pre-paid cards so I tried to talk the manager into refunding some of the money since go-karts were a bust. After a little name-dropping and a chatty visit, she refunded $20 worth of tokens on the cards. The owner is Bill's cousin AND, as it turned out, the manager's uncle.

Back to pick up Melanie and off to the mall. I needed to go to Penney's to get some stuff for Bill. We stopped for fast food on the way and ate in the parking lot. Melanie needs to have snacks and meals on time. Our dinner music amounted to a parked car's alarm going off for five minutes. Purchases in hand, we were ready to return home for relaxing, air-conditioning, and showers. The crowd rolled in around 12:30 or so. Kyle Busch won again tonight.
