Rat Race and Dial-up

Bill & I on an earlier trip with our '97 Gold Wing

Weather was not really a factor on our trip home. On the second day we caught up with some rain and got a bit wet. After a 20-minute wait, it was safe to head on home. Everything was just carried in and dumped when the doorbell rang. Soon it rang again. The visit from our elders went on till almost 4:00--and we got home before 1:00! Now we were really tired. The majority of unpacking, laundry, and putting away had to wait till later.

Monday morning hubby was off to the village office to catch up on whatever he'd not heard by phone before. Then he was off to his real job to work there. Sometime during the day, he hoped to give platelets as is the habit of all three of the CPAs that work there. (Their platelets are fairly rare, so they are in demand.)

At home I was unpacking stuff, doing laundry, welcoming our oldest grandson who will be spending the week, and trying to get stuff done on my computer. I say trying because we are back to DIAL-UP!! Oh, how quickly I get used to wireless, fast internet in CO; then, it's back to our reality here in Small Town, IL. One day soon we hope to have access to wireless (at least fast) internet without the cost being double or triple ours now. I hate this waiting on dial-up!

Tomorrow I must do a grocery run and actually clean this house. In a couple of days we are heading north to see BL and his family from CT, then downstate to a family reunion, and back here again. Oh, yeah. We're back to the rat race.
