Since Friday was the last full day for Ed, Ruth Ann, Bill and Melodye to spend in Estes Park this trip, we wanted to make the most of it. We began with breakfast at the Mountaineer Restaurant. They serve good, generous breakfasts all day.
Even though Trail Ridge Road is closed to the top, one can drive as far as Many Parks Curve. We wanted to do that since the views are spectacular. On the way we stopped at Hidden Valley where there is a warming house and places to sled, snowshoe, and do some cross-country skiing. Last spring Chris, Bill, and I brought Kady up here to go sledding. Higher up we took some pictures and enjoyed the view.

On the way back to town, a stop at "Coffee on the Rocks" was required. This is a neat place by a small lake where ducks and elk are often seen in the summer. They serve a variety of coffees and sandwiches along with some sweets. A nice atmosphere.
After a bit of shopping in downtown (including a stop at a thrift store), we were back at the condo. Well, Melodye had to make one more trip to the shops, so Ruth Ann went along. With the help of Bill F. and Ed, hubby and I put together a grilled pork chop supper. Sorry none of you were here to enjoy the scalloped corn and the dessert--dirt pudding. Yum!
