Since hubby's heart was set on this new experience--and after much discussion--I consented to do this. As it happened, some friends from church were going to be without their children and grandchildren this holiday so we asked them if they would like to join us. They would.
We left home on a Friday at noon and met up with our friends in Kearney, NE. They had left ahead of us and booked rooms at the Quality Inn there. R and D hoped it would be okay with us. Okay? The room was large, clean, and lovely; the bed was so comfy that I didn't miss mine at home! That is saying a lot.
We drove along together on Saturday and stopped in Sydney at Cabela's to look around and enjoy the best-ever chili dogs in their little cafe. Having gained an hour while traveling west, we managed to arrive in E. P. about 4:00 in the afternoon. It was 55 degrees! After unloading, unpacking and making phone calls home, we had a great evening meal at one of our favorite places, The Big Horn Restaurant.
Though we really missed our kids and grandkids, the week has been full of fun and new experiences and a lot of laughs. I'll fill you in with pictures in a later post.

Huh, why do I feel like we are being called out on this???? Just kidding. I do wish we could have been there! Glad you enjoyed your mountain holiday!
Oh, Erica! Of course not! Some things are just the facts of life and can't be altered. I was just explaining why we didn't try to persuade you kids. We love you all and miss you so much! Oh, man; now I feel so bad.
