Changing of the Guard

Last Tuesday (election day) was so very tiring as I worked from 5:30 a.m. until almost 8:00 p.m. at our local election hall. Then three of us took all the equipment, ballots, etc. to the courthouse. I was home by 9:30! Thank the Lord for modern technology! A time or two in my short experience as an election judge, we've been at the courthouse until nearly midnight.

Not long after arriving home, I heard Obama announced as President-elect. Hubby and I were feeling "lower than a snake's belly" for several days. Of course, he is also concerned with the financial future of our country, as well as many other issues.

A few days after the election, I read a blog entry that really picked me up. The writer's conclusion on the election results was so true and so comforting. If any of you readers need a better perspective on things, go to http://alissalikeitornot.blogspot.com/2008/11/why-obama-is-good-for-me.html and don't let the title confuse you.

So, where do we go from here; and what do we do now? May I venture a couple of short answers? To our knees; and pray. We pray for God's will to be done in us, in our president-elect, and in our country. In addition, we remember Who is really in charge and Who is really trustworthy.
