Bummed

Hummingbird reminded me this morning that I had not posted anything to my blog in a while. I guess I've just been bummed lately. Probably too much attention given to the news these days AND too much association with my sometimes-pessimistic husband as he recounts what the pundits are saying about the economy and the political campaigns.

"Arthur" has been making himself known lately as well. It's really depressing to get old--well, except for my mom. At 86 she has more energy and fewer aches or pains than I do. While I'm so glad for her, I am envious for me.

We have a new neighbor to the back. They have a barking dog. Since we often watch TV in this back room, the barking gets annoying. Since my laptop is also here, the barking gets annoying. Every time I step out on the deck to take care of garbage or water flower pots, the barking is annoying. If I get my bike out of the garage to go for a ride, . . . . . .

My camera quit working just before we returned from Colorado. I like to post pictures with my blogs. I take pictures on my phone but don't have the software to transfer them to my computer. On the internet I got some advice on how to fix the camera. RAP it real hard on the heel of my hand. Come on! It's a Sony Cyber-shot. Too expensive to beat on. I did it anyway. It now works. I'll post some new pics with my next writing.

Finally, my high school alma mater is having a true homecoming this weekend beginning with the bonfire tonight. I hate for classmates (and former students) to see how much heavier I've become since the last reunion. Oh, well. I'm working on it using my bicycle and our elliptical. I guess at this age we should all just be glad to see so many of our classmates still living. Out of 43 graduates in our year, six or seven have passed on.

Here are a few pics from a reunion of three classes a few years ago.

You are too hard on yourself! You look great. Glad to see you're posting again. Been wondering what you guys were up to. Tell Dad that the media is (as we all know) biased and McCain will win. Keep praying that he'll win too! Yikes!

I just avoid watching the news altogether. I've becoming more and more convinced that I can't believe anything anyone says anymore.
