One of the "perks" of being old enough to retire is having new experiences. I have heard and read about these things being experienced by others and figured that I had a long time to wait for the "privilege" or would never have it. I'm speaking of developing arthritis, hereinafter dubbed "Arthur".
Arthur is the reason I'm blogging at this hour (12:20 a.m.). He's been making his presence so very obvious in the last two weeks. Tonight I had my hot, jetted tub as a treatment followed by an ice pack and ibuprofen just before bed. Still the deep ache continued so as to prevent sleep. That's saying something since I can hardly stay awake lately when I sit still for only a few moments--perhaps another "perk" of retirement age? No, just exhausted after a couple weeks of being on the go--NASCAR races, helping out at Bob & Melanie's, district conventions, weekend company, babysitting grandkids (and loving it!), laundry. You know, I've come to hate laundry?
Another "perk" of being retired is having time to spend with grandkids. Sometimes they are just hilarious! Kady and Jonah spent Saturday night with us. They love sleeping in our bedroom because they know that Gma provides them with a "bed-night" snack (no matter how late) even though Jonah, at least, doesn't have that privilege at home. And I did! This morning Jonah let his parents in on our "bed-night snack" caper! I got the rolling-of-the-eyes look from his mother. It won't deter me!

My kids would love the bed time snack routine!!! They know better than to even ask for something to eat after dinner here. Big fat NO is ALWAYS the answer!! BUT, that is what grandparents are for, loving and spoiling the grandkids. Keep up the good work (as long as it's not giving sugary snacks to my crew!!).
