Having Time With Family

After spending a week here, Chris, Anita and the two children left for home about 4:00 this morning. The hope was that the kids would sleep until their breakfast stop. And they did! The message they left us this afternoon indicated that the children must have traveled well since they put two-thirds of their miles behind them today. Let me mention that Kady is a great traveler, so it is Creed who determines how long the journey can be.

The week went fast as we crammed as much into it as was reasonable. A time or two we kept the children so that their parents could shop either in Estes Park or in Loveland (outlet mall) with a bit more ease. Other activities that did include the kids were a couple of visits to the Ride-a-Kart place, taking the kids mini-golfing and to a couple of playgrounds, picnicing at Sprague Lake, hiking around Bear Lake, visiting the library and the Estes Ark, and playing games with Gma.

Anita and I visited some thrift shops for fun where she found some play clothes for the kids. Of course, I've already blogged about Chris and his dad hiking to the summit of Long's Peak. While they were on the mountain, Anita and Kady went horseback riding while I was "stuck" here playing with Creed. :) The men went golfing the first of the week but never had time to go again. Then one afternoon and evening the kids and grkids went to Cheyenne to visit with the Bergmans and their two kids. The last evening after supper we all went downtown to find the guys their "I climbed Long's Peak" shirts . . . and, of course, we made a stop at DQ!
